Dear All
For those that do not already know the club took a team of 14 swimmers to the ever popular Guernsey meet the weekend before last.
Everyone swam very well and as well as winning the top club trophy, Terry Wright also won the 'Top Man at Meet' award. Jane also got maximum points for her 10 events but Esther (isaveryzippy) Iseppi from Switzerland won the ladies award as she had more competition in her age group.
It was a super weekend of swimming, socialising and sightseeing as usual and the weather was perfect. A report on the meet which was published in the Guernsey Press features our own Geoff Bishop giving it his all. The pdf can be accessed on the Events page of the site.
Next years (swimming) event is a bit earlier in the year - Friday 14 - Sunday 16 March, so put it in you diaries now. The Yacht Club is already booked for the Saturday team dinner and Christine is sorting out Les Cotils which will hopefully be available.
For the newcomers, we also took a successful but slightly depleted team to the Isle of Wight in February, another regular venue, where we were 4th visiting club. A number of swimmers also went to the South East Region Long Course Championships in Crawley 24/25 March and all came back with medals. Well done to Gordon on his first Meet. What a one to start with!
Next stop for those not going to Italy is Eastbourne, Sunday 3 June!
Happy Splashing!
